As with any game of pure chance, there is no real effective strategic system for winning at slots. You will probably, of course, encounter someone who claims to have developed thefool-proof' slots strategy system but please, ignore such advice. The game is random and arbitrary. The slots don’t have memory, that’s why it is not wise to try to outwit them. But it is wise to play with useful tips, which can really help you. It doesn’t mean that you will win a lot of money, but you will not lose so much. Try to play slot machines that have the highest payout. Play slots with the payout above 95%. Similar to other casino games, it is crucial to know the odds and probabilities of the machine you're playing. Before you start playing slots get acquainted with the payout schedule. Determine your losing limit for the day. If you are more likely to exceed this limit you’d better give up the game. You will not be a winner every time you play. Don’t think that machine will feel guilty if you insert a lot of coins and get nothing back. Give up the machine that isn’t paying out and is not going to. Don’t be afraid of making higher bets if you are on a lucky streak with this very machine. When you're slumping, bet less. Choose a slot according to your bankroll. Look for a dollar machine, and have some fun. Cash out the credits you’ve won before leaving the slot machine you’ve been playing. Sounds obvious, but a lot of people forget! Play the slots you know well.

There are at least two types of slot players.
Persistent player.
This type of slots player is the one that believes the win is right around the corner. Just a second and the coins will be flying all over the casino!
The player will play until the machine pays out. He must have found a machine that haven’t paid for a long period of time or he has inserted to many coins and has got nothing. They know the next big win, or any win is due to pay out. The rush is that if they leave after depositing so much money in the machine it will erupt and the payouts will be often and large. Maybe it can really work if you have already spent thousands of dollars and have got nothing back. The machine can’t but paying.
In the old days when a payout occurred players would feel the coins to see if they were hot or cold. If the coins where hot then the slot machine had not paid out in a while and to the chaser this was good as the machine was do. In fact the coins could be hot only because of the numerous lights that heated the coins.
The chaser.
The player believes the slot machine is not one of those machines that never pay. The player have won and being reinforced by the win gains trust in the slot machine. One can feel the atmosphere of comfort and trust between the machine and the player.

Slots Rules: Understanding the rules of the game is always important, no matter what game you are playing. With slots the rules are very simple: Read the payout chart, insert coins, push button, (or pull handle), insert more coins. If the bells ring and lights flash, open up your pocketbook because you are in the money! Enjoy, but never gamble with more money than you can afford to lose.
Rules for playing Slots
Only slots have so simple rules. In fact it is so because there are no rules at all. The principle of the game is the following: the player inserts coins, pulls the handle and then checks the combination of symbols on the lines. The main objective is to match certain symbols on the paylines. But the player can do nothing to affect this. Slot machines can be found in many denominations from 5 cents to being the most popular, although there are also machines that accept 0 tokens.
It is a popular game for beginners because it is just them against the machine. They don't have to worry about rules and regulations, or being laughed at by the other players for making a bad play, all they have to do is try to hit the jackpot by matching the highest paying symbols on one of the pay lines.

It is true that slots are designed to be honest and not to deceive a player. What you can really doubt is the honesty of some manufactures.
In the old days, slot machines worked mechanically, with independent wheels spinning until they each stopped randomly. Modern slot machines differ form the old ones greatly. These machines contain computer chips that are programmed to select numbers randomly. After selecting a number a corresponding symbol appear on the screen. The computer code that generates the random numbers is responsible for whether the machine is “loose” or “tight,” so gaming inspectors look at the machine’s code to make sure that a slot machine doesn’t cheat. That is, inspectors make sure that the machine pays off at the legal rate or better.
It is next to impossible to say whether the chip is programmed not in a right way because the machine is not supposed to pay out with every spin. Before the machines are installed in casinos they are examined by inspectors. But you must understand that inspectors can’t examine every machine. They examine the brands. If inspectors approve the brand, they can produce machines, and change them. But these changes must cover legal requirements. Manufacturers can change chips to make a machine pay less as long as the inspectors have approved that particular chip.
For example, the Nevada Gaming Commission caught American Coin using chips that did not allow poker royal flushes. Or a chip that shows near misses of a jackpot. The effect was two-fold: the machine didn’t pay off, and customers continued to play the machine, thinking that they were very close to a big jackpot. If you think you’re playing a machine that is not honest, you can complain. Be sure that inspectors will examine this very machine and the casino itself to make sure everything is ok. Manufacturers that cheat are fined or they can lose their license.

Meet the man who beat the slots.
It is impossible to cheat the slot machine, but to improve the payout is possible. It was proved by a gambler whose name was Tommy Glenn Carmichael.
Carmichael, now 53, had a long history of inventing devices to cheat slot machines. His first invention worked, but not for a long period of time as he was sentenced to prison for using it. Then he was released, but continued to work at inventing devices for cheating a slot. For example, he invented a tool called a slider made from guitar wire that he used to insert into the machine and trip a switch, which released coins from the hopper.
Later, as slot machines became computer based, he had to invent a new tool. In some way he managed to fool the manufacture who showed him the inner construction of a slot machine. It was enough for Tommy. Carmichael invented what he called a “light wand. ” The wand, built with a camera battery and a bright miniature light, was used to shine into the slot machine and blind a sensor, causing the hopper to pay out coins. Other gamblers liked his invention and he had a lot of customers, which allowed him to earn up to ,000 a day. With all this money he bought expensive cars, houses and what not.
But as known good things can’t last forever. Tommy was caught using his invention in one of the casinos. He was fined, but soon came back to the same business. By this time, authorities had tapped his phone and recorded conversations with other cheats who used his device. Three years’ probation and expropriation was the punishment. He has been banned from entering any casino.
