There is no strategy that can really help you to win when playing slots Never believe if somebody says that he has an incredible winning strategy. The slots don’t have memory, that’s why it is not wise to try to outwit them. But it is wise to play with useful tips, which can really help you. It doesn’t mean that you will win a lot of money, but you will not lose so much. You should always be looking for the machines that have the highest payout. You want to find anything above 95%. Similar to other casino games, it is crucial to know the odds and probabilities of the machine you're playing. There is a payout table for each slot, so make sure you read it before inserting coins. Determine your losing limit for the day. If you are more likely to exceed this limit you’d better give up the game. It is not wise to think that you will be a winner all the time. You will lose too. Don’t think that machine will feel guilty if you insert a lot of coins and get nothing back. If you think that the machine you are playing will hardly pay anything out you’d better stop playing it. If the machine pays out good you’d better make higher bets. Make lower bets if you are slumping. Find a machine that suits your bank-roll. Play dollar machines if you don’t have much money. It may seem strange but some gamblers forget to do it. Play the slots you know well.

There are at least two types of slot players.
Persistent player.
These players are sure that the machine is already ready to pay out, they just have to wait for a little. Just a second and the coins will be flying all over the casino!
The player has either seen a person playing a slots game for a while with no payouts or alternatively they have been depositing funds into a slots game and haven’t yet seen any payouts. They believe that at least any payout is due to happen. The rush is that if they leave after depositing so much money in the machine it will erupt and the payouts will be often and large. Maybe it can really work if you have already spent thousands of dollars and have got nothing back. The machine must pay.
In the old days when a payout occurred players would feel the coins to see if they were hot or cold. If the coins were hot they believed that the machine had not paid for a long period of time. The heat of the machines lights, etc would eventually heat the coins.
The chaser.
The player thinks that the machine he is going to play is not a machine that never pays. A sense of comfort exists between the slot machine and the player.

Like any casino game slots have their own rules of etiquette. To decide whether to deal or not to deal with this slot machine is of great importance. Imagine you leave the slot and go to the bar or to the restroom and you want to come back in a few minute and continue playing. How can you let other people know that the slot machine is in play? To do it you have to hang a coin cup over the handle of the slot machine. Another signal is to place the coin cup on the seat. In casinos that use a cashless system, a personal item such as a jacket can be placed on the seat instead. In your turn if you see somebody’s belongings or a coin cup never sit to this slot machine. You can sit to any other slot machine. The second etiquette rule concerns the card left by the previous player. Sometimes you can find in the slot machine a card left by the previous player. If you face a situation like this you have to put the card on the top of the slot machine where it can be easily seen and found. While most casinos do allow smoking, it is important for those who smoke to be courteous to others, and to position the ashtray in a manner which inconveniences other players the least. Tipping is another difficult issue for many slot players, and many people are unsure how much to tip the attendant that brings the winnings. If you win a jackpot you should tip the attendant with a tip equal to one half of one percent of the jackpot.

You can be sure that slot machines are designed to be honest. But there are some manufactures that design the slots in such a way that they can deceive players.
When the first slots only appeared cheating was impossible because they worked mechanically, with independent wheels spinning and then stopping randomly. Today’s slot machines are light years away from those lumbering machines of old. Now the integral part of any slot machine is a chip, which is programmed to select numbers randomly. The numbers the computer selects correspond to the symbols that appear on the slot machine’s screen. The computer code that generates the random numbers is responsible for whether the machine is “loose” or “tight,” so gaming inspectors look at the machine’s code to make sure that a slot machine doesn’t cheat. The machine has to pay out either to the legal rate or better. Of course the latter happens very seldom.
Because slot machines don’t pay off with every spin, it’s difficult for customers to tell whether a slot machine’s chip has been programmed to pay off less often than is legally required. The machines have to be examined before people begin to play them. Of course it is very difficult to examine every single machine, that’s why inspectors examine only brands. If inspectors approve the brand, they can produce machines, and change them. But these changes must cover legal requirements. Manufacturers can change chips to make a machine pay less as long as the inspectors have approved that particular chip.
For example, the Nevada Gaming Commission caught American Coin using chips that did not allow poker royal flushes. Similarly, Universal Distributing Company was caught programming machines to show a “near miss” of a jackpot. The effect was two-fold: the machine didn’t pay off, and customers continued to play the machine, thinking that they were very close to a big jackpot. If you think that you have come across such a machine you have a right to complain. Be sure that inspectors will examine this very machine and the casino itself to make sure everything is ok. Manufacturers that cheat are fined or they can lose their license.

Meet the man who beat the slots.
It is not a secret that it is next to impossible to cheat a slot machine. But do you know that Tommy Glenn Carmichael managed to improve the payout of the machine to his benefit.
Carmichael, now 53, had a long history of inventing devices to cheat slot machines. He was caught with one, called a top-bottom joint, and sentenced to prison. After the release Tommy began to invent new kinds of devices for cheating slot machines. For example, he invented a tool called a slider made from guitar wire that he used to insert into the machine and trip a switch, which released coins from the hopper.
Later the slot machines were not any longer mechanical, they were computerized and as a result there appeared a need for a new device. Tommy found a manufacture who showed him the inside of a slot machine. From that experience, he learned what he needed to know to beat it. His new inventions was a light want that blinded the sensor of the slot machine and as a result got winnings. He sold these wands and could earn up to ,000 a day. With all this money he bought expensive cars, houses and what not.
But good thing will end one day. While using his devise Tommy was caught by the police. While charges from that incident were later dropped, he was caught under similar circumstances in Laughlin and later Atlantic City. By this time, authorities had tapped his phone and recorded conversations with other cheats who used his device. He served three years’ probation and lost both homes. He has been banned from entering any casino.
