There is hardly any strategy that can be applied to slots. You will probably, of course, encounter someone who claims to have developed thefool-proof' slots strategy system but please, ignore such advice. The slots don’t have memory, that’s why it is not wise to try to outwit them. But there are some tips, which you can use as a basic strategy. You want to find anything above 95%. Similar to other casino games, it is crucial to know the odds and probabilities of the machine you're playing. Make sure you know the payout schedule before you start pumping in your virtual coins. Before you start playing set for yourself a losing limit. Once that limit is reached, go do something else. It is not wise to think that you will be a winner all the time. You will lose too. If you think that the machine you are playing will hardly pay anything out you’d better stop playing it. Don’t be afraid of making higher bets if you are on a lucky streak with this very machine. Make lower bets if you are slumping. Choose a slot according to your bankroll. Look for a dollar machine, and have some fun. It may seem strange but some gamblers forget to do it. Play the slots you know well.

There are at least two types of slot players.
Persistent player.
This type of slots player is the one that believes the win is right around the corner. Just a second and the coins will be flying all over the casino!
Players become so persistent if they have already spent a lot of money for this slot and haven’t got anything or if they have found a slot machine that haven’t paid for a long period of time. They know the next big win, or any win is due to pay out. They can’t leave the machine because as soon as they do it will burst forth and pay out large sums. Maybe it can really work if you have already spent thousands of dollars and have got nothing back. The machine can’t but paying.
Many years ago players have their own way of determining whether the machine has not paid out for a long period of time. They touch the coins to see whether they were cold or hot. If the coins where hot then the slot machine had not paid out in a while and to the chaser this was good as the machine was do. In fact the coins could be hot only because of the numerous lights that heated the coins.
The second type of slot players is a chaser.
Players feel more comfortable and confident because they have been reinforced with a win and gain trust in the machine. A sense of comfort exists between the slot machine and the player.

Slots are one of the oldest casino entertainments. Throughout the years, designs and implementation of slot machines went from mechanical to electronic, and from electronic to digital, then from digital to purely software, but the principles are still the same: the slot machine has reels which spin and, if the pre-defined winning combination plays out, you win. The player inserts coins in the machine and then wins or loses according to the outcome of the game.
In fact all slot machines are the same. They have different odds (and of course payouts), different payoffs, different symbols and different exterior arrangement, but there's little difference under the hood. There are so many variatisn of slot machines that everybody can find something to his liking.
Two most distinct types of slot machines are single line and multiline slots. As it can be understood from its name single line slots have only one line with 4 or 5 wheels. But multi line slots can have up to 25 lines. Multi line slots are a little bit more complicated because winning combinations may play out across a number of lines; when you win, the machine will draw you how the symbols combine together and calculate the win automatically. Sometimes you don't win anything at all, and sometimes multiple combinations award you with relatively big winning money. There are machines with paylines; that is, vertical lines along which a winning combination must occur, but some don’t have them, as the winning combination may come in diagonals, zigzags, strange curves and in other ways and fashions.
Another interesting variation of the slot machine is a jackpot. In jackpot games, the slot machines accumulate a fraction of every wagered bet into a virtual pot. As the players wager, the jackpot grows and grows, sometimes crossing hundreds of thousands of dollars. A certain winning combination hits the jackpot, and the lucky gambler collects everything that the ones before him left behind.
Since slot machines appeared they have been played with coins. The new invention is a slot machine online, which doesn’t differ greatly from regular slot machines. Like regular slots they have betting limits, which can be even lower than in real casinos. Unlike the table games, slot machines don't involve any decision on the player's part and so aren't threatened by game management systems because of their fixed odds; the bet limits are more of a traditional thing than anything else.
Online slot machines also have RNG, which exclude any possibility to cheat. This methodic allows very fair and precise balancing without actually hurting neither the players' interests nor the casino revenue.

The US
The United States state governments regulate the availability of slot machines. Many states have established gaming control boards for regulating the possession and use of slot machines. There are no significant restrictions against slot machines in Nevada. In New Jersey only hotel casinos operated in Atlantic City are allowed to have slot machines. In some states slot machines are allowed only on licensed riverboats or permanently-anchored barges. In Delaware there are slot machines only at three horse tracks. State lottery commission exists for their regulating.

Native American Casinos
There are no slot machines in Native American casinos located in reservations. But when the tribe first reaches a pact with the state in which it is located it is permitted. The state is entitled to receive a fraction of the gross revenue from slot machines by the pact.

Slot Machine Classes
There is no federal law governing slot machines. Each state has its own classification. There are restrictions on the type of slot machines that can be used in a casino or other gaming area in some states. "Class III" (or "traditional") slot machines operate independently from a centralized computer system. Every play has equal chances of winning any payout. There are a lot of Class III slots in Nevada or Atlantic City. "Vegas-style slots" is another name for them.
There are "Class II" slot machines ("video lottery terminals" or "VLTs") which are connected to a centralized computer system. The outcome of each wager is determined by it. Each machine has an equal chance of winning a series of limited prizes. The casino pays a fee to the state for each Class III game. The regulations for Class II games are not so tight.

Characteristics Of Class II Games
The player is playing not against the casino but against other players. They are competing for a common prize. There is always someone who wins. The game stops when the winner appears. A given set has a certain number of wins and losses. The combimation can occur again only after a new batch is initiated. The games are dependant on each other. The player is an active participant of the game. The announced numbers belong to the same set of numbers for all players.

Class III Game Characteristics
The house plays against the player. There is no connection between the previous and the next games. Any game has any possible outcome.

Clubs Of Slot Players
There is free memberships in "slot clubs" in many casinos of America. A small fraction of the amount of money that is bet is returned in the form of comps. A member of such club should use cards to insert into the slot machines. The differences in the maximum theoretical returns can be significant thanks to comps or "cash back" from these clubs.

Slots In Australia
Queen of the Nile (manufactured by Aristocrat) is one of the most popular Australian poker machine games. Slot machines in Australia are officially termed Gaming Machines. Physical reels are stimulated by video displays in Australian-style gaming machines. There are five of them in most cases. The laws regulating the use of gaming machines in Australia are a matter for State governments.
Not only casinos but also pubs and clubs in some states have Gaming machines. This style of gambling was legalized first in New South Wales. In 1956 they became legal in all registered clubs in the state.
Only particular forms of gaming machine are permitted to be used in Western Australia.

Britain
The terms fruit machines, one-armed bandits and AWP are used to denote slot machines in Britain. Fruit machines are commonly found in pubs, clubs, arcades, and some take-away food shops. 3, 4 or 6 reels with around 16 or 24 fruit symbols printed around them can be found on the machines. These reels are spun. The machine pays winnings if certain combinations of fruit appear. These are very similar to slot machines seen in casinos and elsewhere around the world. But there are some extra features. However, the jackpots from these fruit machines are strictly limited. The UK fruit machines have some features. There is an opportunity for a player to hold one or more reels before spinning. The chance of winning can sometimes be increased. A player may also be given a finite number nudges following a spin. A nudge is a single-step rotation of a reel of the player's choice.
The maximum payout for an individual game is different depending on the type and the location of the machine. There are "club machines" in private members' clubs. They charge more per game and have higher jackpots.
These machines differ from American slot machines. The probability of getting the jackpot in each game is independent of any other game.
The AWP fruit machine is popular across Europe and in countries such as the Czech Republic, Russia, and Ukraine.

Japan
Pachisuro is the name for Japanese slot machines. They are a descendant of the traditional Japanese pachinko game. Slot machines have appeared recently. There are slot machines in pachinko parlors and the adult sections of amusement arcades, known as game centers.
The machines are regulated with IC chips. They have six different levels changing the odds of a "777". There is a variety of slot machines but there exist rules and regulations for all of them.

Have you ever met a man who has managed to cheat slots?
It is impossible to cheat the slot machine, but to improve the payout is possible. It was proved by a gambler whose name was Tommy Glenn Carmichael.
Tommy is now 53 and he can be said to have spent all his life inventing different devices to cheat slot machines. He was caught with one, called a top-bottom joint, and sentenced to prison. Upon his release, he continued to work on the problem and to devise a better way to cheat the new slot machines. For example, he invented a tool called a slider made from guitar wire that he used to insert into the machine and trip a switch, which released coins from the hopper.
Later, as slot machines became computer based, he had to invent a new tool. Tommy found a manufacture who showed him the inside of a slot machine. It was enough for Tommy. Carmichael invented what he called a “light wand. ” The wand, built with a camera battery and a bright miniature light, was used to shine into the slot machine and blind a sensor, causing the hopper to pay out coins. He sold these wands and could earn up to ,000 a day. With all this money he bought expensive cars, houses and what not.
But good thing will end one day. For Carmichael, they ended in front of a slot machine at Circus, where he was caught with the light wand when he tried to run from security. While charges from that incident were later dropped, he was caught under similar circumstances in Laughlin and later Atlantic City. By that time the police already have all necessary clues to prove that Tommy was guilty. He got three years’ probation and lost everything that he had bought before. He has been banned from entering any casino.
